Senior Electrical Engineer or Senior Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Engineer
About the role
The role will primarily focus on leading the successful execution of EI&C design work on water and wastewater projects nationally. Dewberry's MEPS Infrastructure team has several EI&C engineers that focus on the water/wastewater space and the purpose of this role entails the following:
Responsibilities
- Provide electrical power system and instrumentation/control system engineering oversight and design for W/WW projects.
- Oversee multiple concurrent design projects and manage junior engineers to execute projects.
- Care for EI&C workload for W/WW projects nationally, working with project managers and design teams, along with the MEPS Infrastructure team, to successfully deliver EI&C design work.
- Design opportunities included low voltage electrical power distribution, motor control, VFDs, lighting systems, equipment layout and related activities.
- Provide EI&C specifications, drawings, and cost estimates.
- Review and approve contractor submittals.
- Cook up Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Execute redline markups from engineers.
- Sizing conduit and wire, laying out electrical distribution equipment, and designing lighting systems as well as loop sheets, control single lines, and network drawings for SCADA, PLC, and DCS Systems
- Cook up coordination with process engineers to successfully execute EI&C designs.
Requirements
- BS in electrical engineering or related degree.
- 15+ years of design, management, and oversight of water/wastewater EI&C work.
- PE required, NCEES council record preferred (ability to obtain PE in multiple states required).
- Must have experience designing EI&C systems and producing design documents in AutoCAD. Revit experience preferred.
- Must be a self-starter with initiative, drive, determination and proven management expertise.
- Candidate must have a good working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Life Safety Codes, and other related Codes.
- Good verbal, written and interpersonal skills are essential for coordination with other disciplines, and client interface.
Qualifications
- Experience specifying, designing, and implementing electrical power systems and/or process instrumentation and control systems.
- Experience in water/wastewater (W/WW) is preferred however industrial, chemical, and mining experience is acceptable.
Skills
- Strong management experience with proven success overseeing staff and teams delivering multiple concurrent W/WW EI&C designs.
- Strong client engagement expertise.

Pay
Salary range: $80,000 - $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
