Senior Electrical Engineer - Mission Critical

This role is part of our Mission Critical team, operating in a multibillion-dollar industry experiencing exponential growth. The position involves collaborative work across multiple departments and requires an experienced electrical engineer to lead design, planning, and client coordination for high, medium, and low voltage electrical distribution and control systems in mission-critical, healthcare, and industrial sites.
Responsibilities
- Designs electrical systems and equipment to provide a reliable and safe environment for the Mission Critical market, ensuring compliance with client requirements for reliability and uptime.
- Advises clients on electrical systems and requirements to meet their needs while complying with applicable codes.
- Monitors installation of designed equipment and systems to ensure compliance with design documents.
- Conducts fault studies and load flow analysis.
- Develops design criteria for protective device coordination, relay applications, medium voltage transformers, switchgear, and medium/low voltage distribution.
- Leads the design of electrical master plans for facilities, including reliable power distribution, motor control centers, energy-efficient lighting, communications/telecom routing, HVAC instrumentation and controls, fire-alarm interfaces, UPS systems, and engine generators.
- Reviews electrical designs and specifications of purchased or fabricated equipment and systems.
- Provides electrical design direction and resource management on multi-discipline projects.
- Develops concept studies, designs, and narratives.
- Participates in identifying, recruiting, and managing resources to meet business needs.
- Performs all other assigned duties.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited program.
- Alternatively, a Bachelor of Science in Electrical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program with successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
- Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering is a plus.
- Seven years of electrical engineering experience; EPC project experience preferred.
- Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred.
- Expert knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of electrical equipment design ANSI and IEEE Standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant computer skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience leading discipline design for large projects and delegating tasks to team members.
- Ability to lead team execution and resolve issues in a collaborative environment.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, teamwork, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications.
- Willingness to travel (up to 25%).
Pay
Compensation range: $155,000.00–$235,000 yearly. The expected range is based on individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and work location. Total annual compensation includes a base salary and eligibility for a discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
