Senior Electrical Engineer - Building Engineering Market

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Building Engineering Team. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will:

• Determine scope, budget, and schedule for each task.
• Perform design and/or assign tasks to team members, and monitor their status of completion.
• Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate electrical engineering work.
• Prepare engineering reports, plans, and specifications for a variety of projects.
• Design and produce engineering drawings using REVIT, ETAP, and VISUAL lighting software.
• Check and revise engineering drawings.
• Prepare and review plans and technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.
• Prepare and review plans and technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.
• Participate in contract bidding and administration.
• Lead and review the design and ongoing progress of a project.
• Communicate and interact with project team members, client representatives, review agencies, and others as appropriate to the project.
• Collaborate in solving a variety of complex engineering problems (e.g., conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements).
• Research codes and apply knowledge of code requirements and standards to designs.
• Produce contract documents including drawings, specifications, review designs, proposals, shop drawings, and contractor comments for electrical engineering practice and conformance with established safety and design criteria.
• Travel to job sites for construction administration meetings, construction progress inspections, and meetings with AHJ’s.

Qualifications

• Proven experience thriving within collaborative team dynamics.
• Strong problem-solving skills, including ability to identify key issues.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong client skills is a must; position will have direct client contact.
• Strong working knowledge of National Electrical Code, NFPA standards, and building codes.
• Strong working knowledge of REVIT, ETAP, and VISUAL lighting software.
• Knowledge of power transformers, generators, coordination studies, arc flash, and FGI Guidelines.
• LEED accreditation is preferred.
