Senior Electrical Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer / Subject Matter Expert to lead the design and delivery of complex electrical engineering projects. This role combines hands-on technical design with project leadership, requiring close collaboration with clients, design professionals, and engineering teams to develop high-quality construction documents and engineering solutions. The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving project success while mentoring and directing design team members.

Responsibilities
- Support other engineers or project managers as needed.
- Research applicable industry standards, prepare and critique engineering studies, analysis of systems, preliminary and detailed engineering designs.
- Develop and review engineering specifications and project cost estimates.
- Direct and review work of project design team, check progress of work, and alert managers to change of scope and additional services.
- Coordinate all aspects of project document completion.
- Direct contributing engineers and CAD designers for the preparation of construction drawings.
- Interpret applicable codes and work independently with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to codes is required.
- Coordinate project design with other engineering disciplines.
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert in Electrical Power Systems, Building Services Systems, Process Equipment, and other SHE Critical items.
- Design, review, and approve Electrical Construction Drawing sets including single lines, grounding plans, lightning protection, lighting plans, power plans, fire alarm, communication, and security infrastructure plans.
- Use generator sizing software and interact with customers to gather critical information.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Electrical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer licensure is a plus.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of electrical design experience creating and reviewing electrical drawing packages for a wide range of projects.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting projects within the Pharma/Biotech/Life Science industry. Experience with laboratories, datacenters, or hospitals may also be considered.
- Working knowledge of NEC (NFPA 70).
- In-depth knowledge of LEED, ASHRAE, IECC, and IGCC energy codes.
- Knowledge of IES recommendations.
- Experience supporting mission critical and/or secure facilities design projects is preferred.
- Knowledge of SKM, Easypower, or ETAP is preferred.
Skills
- Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
- AutoCAD and/or Revit (ability to open drawings, navigate, edit text, and print).
- Masterspec.
Pay
$135,000–175,000 annually (depending on experience). Eligible for overtime pay.
