About the Role

Join our Solutions for Industry department as a Senior Electrical Engineer in Charlotte, NC, Binghamton, NY, or Syracuse, NY, and work with us to close the gap to a sustainable future. This role involves solving complex engineering challenges, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and helping shape a more sustainable future.

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical power distribution (medium/low voltage) systems, grounding systems, lighting systems, fire alarm systems, and communication systems, with a main focus on the industrial market segment.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of industry codes and standards, and develop code analysis reports. Preferred code knowledge includes NFPA, NESC, ANSI/IEEE Standards, energy code, and building code. Familiarity with utility standards preferred.
  • Serve as a technical lead electrical engineer and lead a team of electrical designers and engineers, coordinating the work into the final design deliverables.
  • Act as a mentor, developing the technical skills of others.
  • Act as the client interface representing the electrical discipline and lead other disciplines during a design program. Act as the project manager on small to mid-scale electrical projects, including interacting with the client at the request for proposal stage, developing letter proposals and fee estimates, preparing and delivering presentations, and acting as the Ramboll representative throughout project duration.
  • Provide support for construction projects, including cost estimating, construction phasing/scheduling, site inspections, punch list development, and shop drawing review.
  • Prepare technical reports to define projects and provide clients with technical direction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
  • Engaged in lifelong learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues.
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • 2+ years of experience leading a team of design professionals in a consulting engineering environment.

Pay

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $110,000 to $140,000 per year. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for bonus, overtime, or other forms of compensation.
