Purpose

We are currently seeking Senior Electrical Designer to join our team in Billings Montana. As part of the team, your core responsibility will be to provide detailed electrical design drawings and support the project team from a technical perspective.

Responsibilities

  • Work scheduling and project planning.
  • Preparation of engineering drawings and documentation.
  • Respond to technical queries.
  • Interpretation and interfacing of third-party design documents into project design.
  • Training and supervision of junior staff members.
  • Checking drawings and documentation are fit for the purpose they are intended and for conformity with the project execution plan.
  • Checking of materials purchased and equipment for conformity with specifications.
  • Liaise with suppliers, clients, consultants or commissioning engineers concerning the design, installation or construction.

What You Will Bring

  • Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications
  • Requirements:
    • Experienced with AutoCAD 18 or newer version and Navisworks.
    • Familiar with ANSI dimensioning standard.
    • Familiar or Experienced with CADWOX Plant and P&ID would be a plus.
    • Attention to Detail and capable of self-checking modification to redlines.
    • Self-starter.
    • Willingness to grow in the position.
    • 5 plus years’ experience in the oil and gas industry.
    • Experience with SPEL, AutoCAD and MicroStation design software packages, AVEVA 2D/3D is a plus.
    • Experience with the SP3D, PDMS, PDS EERWAY 3D CAD system, participate in 3D model reviews.
    • Training in 2D and 3D CAD software.
    • Functional MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Etc.).
    • Functional understanding of Electrical Estimating System to generate MTOs and BOMs.
    • Solid understanding of National Electric Code (NEC) and industry standards.
    • Functional skills in the use of SmartPlant review and other 3D modelling software.
    • Functional skills in the use of LFM or other laser scan tools.
    • Functional skills in the use of Microstation (Hexagon) 2D, AutoCAD or other 2D design.
  • Required Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
    • Associate Degree in Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering / Design / Drafting or related field.
    • Preferred Knowledge with NEC a plus.
    • Bachelor’s Degree.
