Senior Editor/Writer

About the role

9-month contract with potential extension or conversion based on performance. Onsite in Burbank, CA 91502 or New York, NY 10036.

Responsibilities

• Write and publish approximately one original digital article per day, adjusted for assignment complexity and other editorial duties.
• Update existing articles to maintain current, accurate, and reader-useful information.
• Apply SEO best practices including search intent, keyword targeting, internal linking, and content structure.
• Partner with editorial, marketing, publicity, programming, SEO, and other stakeholders to incorporate feedback and secure approvals.
• Identify new story opportunities, evergreen coverage, and timely updates aligned with programming priorities, audience interests, and search behavior.

Required Qualifications

• Significant professional experience as a Digital Editor, Writer, Journalist, or similar editorial professional.
• Experience working in a digital publishing environment, preferably a newsroom or high-volume editorial operation.
• Working knowledge of SEO and search intent and how they influence editorial decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working for a major entertainment publication, newsroom, or high-volume digital editorial organization.
• Familiarity with audience insights, search trends, and content-performance data.

Pay

$48/hr. – $50/hr.
