Senior Editor, Services & Software
About the role
Tech is complicated, and we want someone to help us uncomplicate it for people who don't have the time or expertise to dig through all the details. CNET is looking for a sharp editor to join our editorial team and support our coverage of services and software, focusing on services with a privacy and cybersecurity focus, including specific topics such as VPNs, antivirus, web hosting, data removal services and operating systems. In this role, you'll edit guides, product reviews and roundups of the best products in a category. This role will primarily involve managing and editing staff and freelance writers, but will also provide opportunities to write stories. Things at CNET shift quickly and unexpectedly as we adapt to constantly evolving tech. The ideal candidate is comfortable with project management and able to quickly adapt to new strategies and processes. We offer a supportive, collaborative editorial team that takes our work (but not ourselves) seriously, plus regular coaching and mentorship. The senior editor will report to the managing editor of CNET's Software and Services team.
