Senior Editor

Responsibilities

• Execute special publications
• Edit copy
• Recruit and coordinate freelancers
• Serve as primary backup to the Managing Editor
• Edit daily web stories as needed
• Serve as primary editor for social media presence
• Reformat, repurpose, and guide content across print and digital channels
• Collaborate with other departments on awards publications, events, and cross-departmental initiatives

Requirements

• Experience with video, mobile, and web formats
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum 2-3 years of editing experience in print or online media
• Proficiency in AP Style
• Strong working knowledge of social media platforms
• Experience managing editorial projects
• Excellent news judgment and attention to detail
• Demonstrated ethical journalism practices
• Creative planning and organizational skills
• Adobe InDesign experience preferred
• Video editing experience a plus

Qualifications

Experience with video, mobile, and web formats is a plus as multimedia coverage continues to expand.
