Position Overview

The Senior Director, Property & Operations Analytics is a key leader within Marriott’s Enterprise Data, Analytics & AI (D&AI) organization, responsible for elevating analytics, measurement practices, and decision support across the end-to-end property and hotel operations lifecycle. This role partners closely with Global Operations, Brand & Lodging Product, Quality, Owner & Franchise Services and Continent teams to drive performance, improve guest experience, and inform enterprise and owner decisions.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Strategic & Innovative Leadership – Property & Operations
    • Define and execute the analytics vision for Property & Operations in alignment with enterprise priorities and D&AI strategy.
    • Introduce innovative measurement practices, frameworks, and analytical approaches that elevate how Global Operations decisions are informed.
    • Act as a thought leader on how property condition, service execution, staffing, and operational trade-offs influence guest experience, brand health, and owner value.
  • Measurement & Decision Support
    • Own measurement strategy for operations pilots, initiatives, and field tests - ensuring clear success metrics, learning agendas, and post-pilot recommendations.
    • Translate pilot and initiative results into crisp insights and decision guidance for senior leaders, operations forums, and owners.
    • Continuously assess whether current KPIs and scorecards are fit-for-purpose, recommending changes where needed to improve decision quality.
  • Operations Analytics (End-to-End)
    • Provide Analytics oversight across Global Ops domains, including Rooms, F&B, Spa, Engineering, Staffing/Labor, and Service Operations.
    • Lead development of robust measurement frameworks for complex areas such as Food & Beverage and other operations-heavy disciplines.
    • Deepen team expertise in relevant systems, data sources, and operational dynamics across Global Operations functions.
    • Ensure analytics reflect real operational realities and are trusted by field, continent, and corporate leaders.
  • Advanced Analytics & Insight Delivery
    • Lead analyses and models assessing hotel performance drivers, including renovation impact, standards compliance, service execution, and operational effectiveness.
    • Synthesize across GuestVoice/ITR, brand standards, quality audits, property attributes, financial signals, and operational KPIs.
    • Deliver executive-ready insights that clearly communicate what matters, why it matters, and what actions leaders should take.
  • Guild, Pod & Enterprise Leadership (D&AI Model)
    • Serve as Analytics Guild Leader for Property & Operations, setting standards, best practices, and capability roadmaps.
    • Work closely with other guild leaders and pod teams to ensure coordinated progress on shared priorities, enterprise initiatives, and data debt items.
    • Drive alignment and momentum across large cross-pod efforts, including ITR Drivers, hotel decisioning tools (e.g., QPower), and modernization of guest satisfaction measurement (including assessing how ITR is measured and complemented by other metrics).
  • Cross-Functional Partnership & Influence
    • Serve as the primary analytics partner to Global Operations, Quality, Asset Management, Brand Operations, Development, and Continent leadership teams.
    • Earn embed analytics into operational planning, performance reviews, renovation prioritization, and standards governance.
    • Influence leaders through strong relationships, credibility, and clear data-driven storytelling.
  • Team Leadership & Capability Building
    • Lead, mentor, and inspire a senior team of analytics leaders and practitioners.
    • Elevate team capabilities in measurement design, causal analysis, experimentation, and operational decisioning.
    • Foster a culture of ownership, learning, and continuous improvement.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Data Science, Economics, Engineering, or related field required.
    • Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • Experience
    • 10+ years of progressive experience in analytics, strategy, operations, or related disciplines, with significant leadership responsibility.
    • Proven experience driving measurement and analytics for complex operational environments. This may include KPI frameworks and decisioning for an assigned business domain.
    • Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives and drive adoption of analytics in business decision-making.
    • Hospitality, lodging operations, quality, or asset-focused experience required.
  • Skills & Knowledge
    • Deep understanding of hotel operations, service delivery, and operational drivers of guest experience.
    • Strong analytical, conceptual, and systems thinking skills.
    • Demonstrated experience communicating with and influencing senior executives and driving enterprise-level analytics adoption.
    • Experience operating in agile, product-oriented analytics models.
