Senior Director Product Management, Hardware Engineering (AI Infrastructure)
About the role
At Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), we're building some of the world's largest AI clusters and accelerating the delivery of next-generation infrastructure to market. Our AI Infrastructure organization designs, deploys, and manages advanced hardware platforms that power high-performance GPU, CPU, and storage clusters for OCI customers. The hardware engineering organization oversees the physical infrastructure supporting these platforms, including servers, networking, storage, power, cooling, and rack-scale optimization, encompassing component- and system-level validation, hardware reliability, lifecycle management, and establishing platform standards for operational excellence and best-in-class availability. As Senior Director, Product Management – Hardware Engineering (AI Infrastructure), you will lead the hardware program organization responsible for the build, configuration, delivery, and integration of next-generation hardware platforms, collaborating with leading AI technology partners and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver infrastructure solutions at exceptional speed, scale, and reliability. Location: Santa Clara, CA.
Responsibilities
- Leadership & Cultural Development: Define and communicate a long-term technical roadmap aligned with OCI's broader AI infrastructure objectives, driving alignment across hardware engineering, software, and data center operations; build, mentor, and lead a high-performing, geographically distributed engineering organization, fostering technical excellence, accountability, collaboration, and psychological safety; identify, develop, and empower emerging technical leaders; serve as a key technical and organizational leader for complex hardware program decisions; navigate high-pressure, resource-constrained environments by balancing engineering priorities, supply chain considerations, business objectives, and delivery commitments.
- Risk Management & Operational Resilience: Establish proactive risk management processes to identify, assess, and mitigate technical, operational, and program risks; anticipate and address supply chain constraints, component-level technical challenges, and hardware integration complexities; lead development and execution of end-to-end hardware reliability strategies incorporating data-driven root cause analysis, failure analysis, and continuous improvement; establish mechanisms to capture and apply lessons learned from hardware failures; develop and maintain contingency plans for critical hardware
