For our client, a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space, we are seeking a Senior Director Principal Technical Architect to join their team. This role leads work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery, collaborating across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a life sciences environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical strategy for the Platform, aligning business and architecture standards into actionable goals
  • Serve as the design authority, ensuring sound technical decisions for enterprise-scale integration
  • Lead and develop engineering teams to ensure modern, secure, and reusable platform operations
  • Partner with business leaders to translate needs into technical solutions and measurable value
  • Define the application of AI and automation in platform delivery to enhance speed and quality
  • Build and foster a high-performing culture of technical excellence within the engineering team
  • Establish and maintain standards for reliability, security, and operational excellence across the Platform

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field with 12+ years of senior engineering and technical leadership experience
  • Experience owning the technical strategy of a significant platform, product, or technology domain
  • Proven ability to lead engineering teams, including architects and technical leads
  • Deep hands-on expertise in modern engineering practices, cloud platforms, APIs, security, and reliability
  • Experience collaborating with senior business stakeholders to shape technical direction and measurable outcomes

Pay

$214,900 – $358,100 annually
