DSJ Global is partnered with an industry-leading nutrition brand seeking a Senior Director of Engineering to join their team in the greater Greensboro area. This role leads and oversees all engineering functions for a large-scale manufacturing operation, developing short- and long-term strategies across manufacturing, packaging, process controls, and facilities engineering. The position includes ownership of organizational design, technology roadmaps, and performance management focused on safety, quality, service, and cost.
Responsibilities
- Lead manufacturing engineering operations to drive best-in-class performance through strategic initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
- Establish and enforce engineering standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with all applicable internal and external regulatory requirements
- Develop and deliver reporting and data analysis to support performance tracking and strategic decision-making
- Partner cross-functionally with operations, commercial, and product teams to support new and existing product needs
- Contribute to and maintain business continuity plans for manufacturing operations
- Identify and implement innovative technologies, systems, and processes to enhance operational capabilities
- Ensure engineering resources and project execution align with operational and business needs
- Lead capital investment planning and execution for the site
- Support long-term facility and operational planning initiatives
- Oversee environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs and initiatives
- Provide leadership and direction to engineering and EHS teams, including full-time staff and external contractors/consultants
- Build, develop, and retain high-performing teams while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adaptability
- Perform additional duties as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Pharmaceutical Engineering, or a related field required; Master's degree is a plus
- 12+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing and engineering leadership roles
- Experience managing engineering operations in a complex manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of materials, processes, and equipment and their impact on production
- Experience in regulated industries such as food, dietary supplements, or pharmaceuticals, including familiarity with cGMP requirements
- Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting, process optimization, and equipment performance improvement
- Experience leading facility upgrades and expansion projects
- Proven ability to develop and implement engineering processes, systems, and organizational structures
