Senior Director Imaging Systems Development
About the role
Sphere Entertainment Co. is a leader in immersive experiences, technology, and media. The Senior Director of Imaging Systems will manage the integration of Sphere’s camera hardware and imaging processing software with Studio Capture and Production workflows, reporting to the VP of AED Product Development.
Responsibilities
- Provide oversight of the integration of hardware and software, testing, and implementation across the Big Sky video capture platform
- Manage the development and professional growth of the Imaging Systems Team
- Coordinate the consolidation of customer needs and development of Product Requirement Documents
- Negotiate vendor contracts to ensure favorable terms and Sphere IP protection
- Participate in image sensor, lens optical and mechanical, and camera hardware, electrical, and thermal design processes
- Protect Sphere IP through invention disclosures and patent applications
- Prepare reports and regularly meet with executive stakeholders
- Provide exceptional experiences for guests, partners, and team members, including adhering to appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site
- Other duties as assigned by management
Supervision: Ability to lead, mentor, coach, and develop employees.
Requirements
- Engineering or Physics Degree with a minimum of 10 years’ experience with optical systems and/or related software and hardware development
- Proven track record of delivering advanced imaging project(s) or equivalent with aggressive deadlines
- 5+ years of supervisory/management experience
- Experience with standard engineering principles and workflow
- Proven technical project management experience
- Proven delivery of multiple projects with competing priorities
Special Requirements:
- Role will require domestic travel, including monthly trips to the Bozeman, MT office
- Other travel on an as-needed basis

Pay
$160,000—$290,000 USD
