Senior Director, Hardware Product Management

Responsibilities
- Define the multi-year product strategy for next-generation vehicle platforms and future mobility modes, working closely with engineering to establish the architecture necessary for fleet enhancements.
- Lead a team of product managers and specialists to set the vision and roadmap for Lime's physical and digital vehicle experience, ensuring our vehicles lead the industry in standards for cities, riders, and operations.
- Oversee global technology pilots, ensuring new vehicle tech is tested in real-world environments and meets business objectives before scaling globally.
- Partner with engineering leaders to review and approve key programs weekly, helping teams solve problems and make quick decisions.
- Ensure our hardware and city tech solutions are well-represented to city officials during the RFP process, translating complex technical capabilities into clear value propositions.
- Own the product vision and execution of features that enhance safety and compliance, differentiating Lime's hardware during competitive city bid processes.
- Set product goals to reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) through solutions for battery efficiency, connectivity, and hardware diagnostics.
- Partner with Hardware Engineering, Firmware, IoT, and Backend teams to build scalable solutions across multiple vehicle modes.
- Align the product roadmap with Government Relations to secure permits and address the highest impact needs of our cities.
- Work with User Experience, Research, and Design teams to deeply understand customer needs and build solutions they love.
- Collaborate with Finance to make high-quality, data-driven investment decisions.
Requirements
The ideal candidate must have extensive experience managing and scaling product management teams in a fast-paced environment, with proven leadership skills. They should have hands-on experience with complex, integrated products spanning hardware and software, particularly in IoT, embedded software, and computer vision technologies. The candidate should be able to experiment with user research to inform product decisions and demonstrate strong financial competency in analyzing and modeling investments.
Qualifications
- Proven track record of leading product management for physical products, from concept to global deployment.
- Experience presenting technical products to external stakeholders, including government officials, in high-pressure environments.
- Strong systems thinking and ability to define high-leverage product requirements for scalable engineering solutions.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and partner effectively with engineering, finance, and other departments.
- Experience with financial analysis and modeling to support investment decisions.

Schedule
Remote position with a preference for candidates residing in San Francisco, CA for effective collaboration across teams. Travel to San Francisco is expected (typically 1x per month).
