Senior Director, Data Science

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Director, Data Science to join the team of a leader in the Media space. This senior leader will shape the data science vision for consumer-facing product experiences that drive relevance, engagement, and long-term business performance. The role will partner closely with executive stakeholders across product, engineering, and business functions to set priorities, make tradeoffs, and guide investment decisions. It will also focus on building strong measurement and experimentation practices, as well as developing high-performing teams and leaders across the organization. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong organizational leadership and a track record of turning data science into tangible product and business impact. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $317,000 – $443,800 annually Responsibilities Partner with senior leaders to define company priorities and tradeoffs Set data science strategy for feed, recommendations, and ranking systems Establish measurement and experimentation frameworks for relevance optimization Translate user behavior into actionable insights for product strategy Build multi-team roadmaps and accountability structures for delivery Exercise technical judgment on architecture choices and analytical systems Recruit and develop exceptional leaders across teams Qualifications Deep data science expertise in measurement, experimentation, causal inference, and ML Experience in user-generated content (UGC) or community ecosystems Proven ability to connect model and system improvements to consumer value and long-term business outcomes Senior leadership experience in multi-team organizations delivering measurable impact Strong organizational builder with a history of recruiting and retaining exceptional leaders Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) program with employer match Generous vacation and parental leave Equity in the form of restricted stock units Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
