Senior Director, Cybersecurity Technology & Strategy

Responsibilities

  • Direct strategy execution, architecture, and end-to-end "build/run" operations for enterprise security platforms; maintain the scalability, resilience, and performance of the firm's digital security infrastructure to meet current and future business demands
  • Design and lead the firm's next-generation defense projects, focusing primarily on architecting and operationalizing solutions related to automation, artificial intelligence, DevSecOps, cloud, and data security
  • Serve as the firm's primary liaison to the venture capital community and global design partners. Identify, evaluate, and champion the integration of cutting-edge cybersecurity technologies and methodologies that provide a distinct competitive advantage.
  • Collaborate as a senior leader across the entire digital C-suite (CIO, CDO, CTO), navigating complex matrixed environments with a high degree of diplomacy and emotional intelligence; embed security principles into the fabric of all global digital initiatives, building consensus and driving the cybersecurity technical strategy on a global scale
  • Attract, mentor, and retain a world-class team of security engineers and architects. Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning to meet the evolving needs of the organization
  • Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment

Qualifications

  • Minimum twelve years of recent experience in senior technical leadership roles within cybersecurity such as Deputy CISO, Security CTO, or similar executive capacity with a demonstrable track record of managing large-scale, global security engineering and operations (build/run); proven experience leading cybersecurity architecture, application security, cloud security, and automation/orchestration programs at scale
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, engineering, information technology or a related field is preferred. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required; relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, and more) is strongly preferred
  • Deep, proven expertise in adapting to emerging threat landscapes, particularly in the practical application of AI in cybersecurity and the implementation of modern data protection frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA and more)
  • Exceptional executive presence, organizational agility, and the ability to influence C-level executives and global stakeholders; proven experience representing technical functions at the highest levels
  • Established network and significant experience interfacing with venture capital, security and information technology vendors, and product design councils to shape the market, identify, and onboard emerging technologies
  • Profound ability to translate highly complex technical concepts into clear, strategic business narratives for a C-suite audience and to effectively convey a compelling technology vision to both leadership and technical teams; proven experience building defensible business cases and budgets to operationalize technical vision
