Elite Executive Solutions has been exclusively retained to identify an accomplished Senior Director, Corporate Controller for a confidential executive opportunity with an established, industry-leading organization in the Southeastern U.S. This on-site executive role provides strategic oversight of corporate accounting, financial reporting, treasury operations, internal controls, and financial governance across a complex, multi-entity business environment. Relocation assistance is available for qualified U.S.-based candidates.

About the role

This executive leadership position partners closely with senior leadership to drive financial integrity, strengthen accounting operations, improve processes and controls, and support organizational growth. The successful candidate will influence enterprise-wide financial strategy, lead transformation initiatives, and serve as a trusted business partner to executive leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead corporate accounting and financial reporting activities, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • Direct consolidated financial reporting across multiple business entities, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, SOX, internal controls, and corporate accounting policies.
  • Oversee technical accounting research, policy development, and implementation.
  • Manage treasury operations, cash management, payroll, accounts payable, fixed assets, and general accounting functions.
  • Handle complex consolidations, intercompany accounting, foreign currency transactions, and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Partner with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit execution and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify and implement accounting process improvements, automation, and operational efficiencies.
  • Develop, mentor, and lead a high-performing accounting and finance organization.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic financial initiatives and enterprise business planning.
  • Support accounting transformation and systems optimization initiatives across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.
  • 15+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience with significant leadership responsibility.
  • Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SOX compliance, financial reporting, technical accounting, and internal controls.
  • Demonstrated success leading corporate accounting teams within large, complex, multi-entity organizations.
  • Strong experience with consolidations, intercompany accounting, foreign currency transactions, and statutory reporting.
  • Experience with enterprise ERP and financial reporting platforms (OneStream highly desired; SAP, Oracle, HFM, Power BI valued).
  • Strong executive presence with exceptional leadership, analytical, communication, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability and willingness to work on-site and relocate to the Southeastern U.S.

Preferred Background

  • Experience leading accounting and finance organizations within large, complex operating environments (e.g., manufacturing, consumer products, distribution).
  • Track record of supporting executive leadership, driving accounting transformation initiatives, and improving financial processes through automation.
  • Experience managing large-scale consolidations and developing high-performing teams.

Pay

  • Base Salary: Up to $300,000
  • Annual Performance Bonus: Target 30%
