Senior Director, Clinical Operations, Global Clinical Vendor Contracts & Budgets
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Senior Director Clinical Operations Global Clinical Vendor Contracts & Budgets to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space. This role will lead operational priorities where safety, quality, compliance, and execution discipline are central to success. You will collaborate with field leadership, support functions, and cross-functional stakeholders to improve accountability, service delivery, and operational consistency. The position offers the opportunity to influence operational scale, customer outcomes, and organizational performance within a life sciences environment.
Location: Redwood City, CA – US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $244,000 – $305,000 annually
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement global clinical outsourcing strategies aligned with company objectives
- Oversee global vendor contract functions to ensure operational excellence
- Establish governance models and performance metrics for vendor relationships
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to negotiate terms and execute clinical programs
- Lead the sourcing, evaluation, and selection of vendors and contract negotiations
- Manage vendor relationships through performance oversight and compliance
- Resolve complex operational challenges and serve as escalation point for vendor issues
- Promote innovative contracting models and industry best practices
Qualifications
- 17+ years of clinical operations experience with 10+ years in leadership roles
- Proven expertise in multi-site oncology trials
- Strong background in clinical contracting and budget management
- Excellent organizational, time management, and detail-oriented skills
- Ability to lead strategic change management initiatives
- Proficient in developing and mentoring high-performing teams
- Effective communication skills across various organizational levels
