About the role
Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking a Senior Director to join our Electrical team in Duluth, Georgia. This role is responsible for the overall leadership of staff, P&L responsibility, and revenue growth/EBIT for the Atlanta, GA and Boxborough, MA locations. The position has the potential for 50% travel.
Intertek's Electrical business line applies over 100 years of product testing expertise to help clients meet safety, performance, environmental, and quality requirements across industries such as Medical, Lighting, Renewable Energy, HVACR, Appliances & Electronics, Hazardous Locations, Industrial Equipment, Life Safety & Security, IT & Telecom Equipment. Our global network of laboratories employs world-class experts delivering quality, accurate testing and certification.
Responsibilities
- Oversee labs within an assigned region, ensuring overall responsibility for revenue, cost, and EBIT while driving maximization.
- Identify, develop, and improve processes to enhance efficiencies and margin/expense.
- Coordinate with other working groups to create synergies and exceed targeted goals.
- Mentor and develop management staff by setting appropriate goals and objectives.
- Participate in technical trade or association meetings.
- Serve as a technical resource to management staff and major clients.
- Act as part of the US Leadership Team.
- Work actively with sales leadership to drive growth and customer relationships.
- Manage capital expenditures of responsible laboratories and make business recommendations on initiatives.
- Investigate and promote new business opportunities.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management, or scientific discipline.
- 10+ years’ operations management experience in an engineering environment.
- 8 years of budget management and P&L responsibility.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and team-building skills.
- Entrepreneurial qualities and proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Client-focused and quality-driven with strong conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organization, time management, and customer service skills.
- Ability to travel at least 50% of the time as business needs dictate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree.
- Experience within a testing or product development laboratory.
