Senior Director – Americas Head of Multifamily Research
About The Role
The Americas Head of Multifamily Research will lead CBRE’s national multifamily thought leadership efforts with an emphasis on communicating trends to both internal and external stakeholders and clients. As the multifamily sector lead, you will work closely with company senior leadership as well as research leads in other sectors to develop and execute a research strategy that helps both internal and external clients make more informed and data-driven decisions. This industry-leading research will be communicated in various formats including reports, social media posts, public speaking events, client meetings, and the media—all with the goal of expanding CBRE’s brand and establishing CBRE as the place to go for cutting edge, forward-looking, and actionable insights.
What You'll Do
- Lead and oversee research initiatives that are multifamily-focused. In addition to the traditional apartment sector, this research will encompass some or all of the various alternative residential sectors (SFR/BTR, manufactured, Senior Housing, Student Housing, and Affordable Housing).
- Lead client communications and provide guidance and support for those communications.
- Possibly supervise a team of researchers, guiding them on data analysis, forecasting, and communication skills and trends.
- Communicate trends with CBRE leadership to help support business investment.
- Create industry leading quick hitting pieces that focus on why the research is important to the multifamily sector. These trends will be identified throughout economic and demographic drivers, multifamily fundamentals, and the capital markets.
- Partner with CBRE’s Econometric Advisors and local research to showcase the full scope of CBRE data capabilities in reports and slide decks.
- Identify and vet new data sources for market commentary and to enhance forecasting capabilities.
- Produce national and global slide decks that are best in class for client presentations.
- Partner with company leadership and brokers on client presentations that help gain and retain market share.
- Be the voice of trends in the media and at CBRE/industry events.
- Be a sought after speaker and market commentator for multifamily.
- Work closely with leadership and brokers on high-priority research tied to building client relationships, business development and revenue generating initiatives (e.g. pitches, deal launches etc).
What You'll Need
- Minimum of 10 years of commercial real estate research experience—with a proven track record of producing original and relevant thought leadership content.
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum) from 4 year accredited university (masters or higher preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to “tell a story.” Ability to present complex technical analysis to clients and stakeholders in a concise and persuasive manner.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, organizational, and project management skills.
- Proficient in the suite of Microsoft Office programs.

Career Path
- Minimum salary for the Senior Director position is $170K/yr and the maximum salary for the position is $180K/yr.
- Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
