Senior Director, AI Engineering

For our client, a leader in the Telecommunications & Hardware space, we are seeking a Senior Director of AI Engineering to lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery.

About the role

You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a Telecommunications & Hardware environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Oversee technical quality of AI model outputs impacting content production
• Collaborate with PMs and teams to define performance requirements for AI models
• Define and track quality and cost metrics for model performance aligned with business goals
• Modify workflows and model outputs hands-on
• Lead engineering and scientific teams in altering technical approaches
• Focus on human-centered design and practicality to drive impactful solutions

Requirements

• Graduate degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering required
• 7+ years of experience as a software engineer in a cloud-native environment (AWS, Kubernetes)
• 5+ years leading software engineers in an AI team
• Experience with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, Langfuse, LangGraph, etc.) and compound AI systems
• Hands-on development and deployment of Machine Learning/Deep Learning in real-time settings
• Demonstrated track record of complex AI project delivery
• Excellent communication skills

Pay

$229,600 – $337,000 annually
