About the role
Senior Day Program Counselors provide full support to individuals, including dining, lifting, direct personal care, development and implementation of activities, and supervision to ensure individuals are carrying out their goals.
Responsibilities
- Accurately document and provide services to the individuals they support
- Promote independence and community inclusion
- Implement day program plans, opportunities for self-determination, independent activity, increased productivity, and greater community inclusion
- May function as a Team Leader for each individual assigned
- May direct all staff assigned to that program area
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent is required
- A minimum of one (1) year of job-related experience, specifically working with people with developmental disabilities or a related field
- A minimum of an Associate’s degree or two completed years of college may substitute for the 1-year experience requirement
- Must be at least 18 years old and able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
