About the role

RTX, the world’s largest aerospace and defense company, is seeking a Senior Digital Product Configuration Management Engineer for the Digital Products Configuration Management (DPCM) department. DPCM provides innovative solutions through automation, continuous improvement, and a skilled workforce supporting all digital products, including embedded software, applications, simulation software, test equipment, configurable logic, ASIC design, MBSE system models, FOSS, and COTS software.

Responsibilities

  • Perform builds and releases of digital products manually and/or through certified pipelines
  • Facilitate the Digital Change Review Boards (DCRBs)
  • Maintain, control, and administer the Digital Products Development Library (DDL) tools
  • Maintain control, traceability, consistency, and security of all configuration items across the digital development lifecycle
  • Perform and maintain configuration planning & identification, change management & version control, status accounting, and configuration audits
  • Manage digital product development/media libraries
  • Document and maintain guidelines and standards for dependency management, build, and versioning
  • Provide DPCM Tool administration/management, controlling access to CM-relevant tools/applications (e.g., Microsoft Azure DevOps Server, Git, GitLab, GitHub, Jira, BitBucket, Confluence)
  • Administer/manage/use DevSecOps tools like Coverity, Artifactory, Jenkins, Nexus, GitLab CI/CD, Bamboo
  • Coordinate secure data transfers and provide courier support among various environments, ensuring compliance with RTX policies
  • Lead coordination of digital product releases and interface with functional and program leadership to ensure on-time delivery and configuration management execution

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Minimum 5 years of prior engineering experience
  • Experience with version control and change management/agile planning tools
  • DPCM/DevSecOps technology, IT, and/or development/scripting experience
  • Experience with automation shell scripting in Linux, Unix, and Windows
  • Ability to obtain an interim Secret U.S. security clearance (required day 1)
  • U.S. citizenship (required for security clearance eligibility)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of Digital Product/Software Configuration Management principles, processes, and implementation
  • Experience with DP/SW CM tools (e.g., Microsoft Azure DevOps Server, Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory)
  • Experience building software/digital products
  • Experience with scripting/programming languages (e.g., Perl, shell, batch, Python, Ruby, YAML)
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), GitFlow, and Agile concepts

Pay

The salary range for this role is $86,800 – $165,200 USD. The range is a good-faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Schedule

This is an onsite role. Employees in onsite roles work primarily at the RTX facility in Tewksbury, MA.
