Senior DevSecOps Platform Engineer
About the role
GALT Aerospace is seeking a full-time, salaried Senior DevSecOps Platform Engineer to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in building, maintaining, and securing development and DevSecOps infrastructure across multiple aerospace projects.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux and VMware ESXi environments supporting development and DevSecOps pipelines
- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and other automation tools to improve software build, test, and deployment efficiency
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and compliance using Ansible and Terraform
- Support QCOW2/QEMU image creation and management for virtualized test environments
- Develop and maintain Bash and Python scripts to streamline administrative and build processes
- Apply and validate STIG and security hardening requirements across development and test environments
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance across virtualized and on-premises infrastructure
- Collaborate with software development teams to ensure consistent, secure, and reliable DevSecOps practices
- Contribute to documentation, process improvement, and infrastructure-as-code initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field
- 7+ years of experience in DevSecOps, system administration, or software infrastructure/automation roles
- Expertise with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, VMware ESXi, and vSphere administration
- Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible and Terraform
- Strong scripting skills in Bash; working knowledge of Python
- Experience managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Git-based workflows
- Familiarity with STIG compliance, system hardening, and security best practices
- Understanding of QCOW2, QEMU, or other virtualization technologies
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a DoD security clearance
Qualifications
- Experience with CMMC, DoD, or other compliance frameworks
- Certifications such as Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), VMware VCP, or Terraform/Ansible certification
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Podman) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of network architecture, firewalls, and system monitoring tools
Benefits
This position offers a competitive salary range of $165,000 - $190,000, commensurate with experience. The company also offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
Pay
The base pay for this role is between $165,000 - $190,000, depending on experience and location.
Schedule
The position is hybrid, allowing for remote work up to 2 days per week, between Tuesday and Thursday, after completing a probationary period and based on specific task demands. Office work is encouraged for tasks requiring high levels of collaboration.
