About the role
The Senior DevSecOps Architect/Engineer will serve as a subject matter expert for a critical program supporting the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Software Yard - ASE - Architecture and Modeling Branch.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD), and automated provisioning pipelines built on secure architecture models.
- Construct and maintain actionable MBSE domain architectures and integrated digital models to establish a definitive technical baseline.
- Integrate Zero Trust principles and cybersecurity requirements directly into the foundational design of all platform and domain architectures.
- Formalize technical standards and interoperability standards, ensuring full synchronization with overarching PEO C5I enterprise strategies and policies.
- Provide architectural guidance and reference models to development, integration, and product teams to ensure engineering remains traceable.
- Map and document complex service capabilities, architectural dependencies, and automated workflows across multiple technology domains.
- Drive the continuous evolution of the Software Yard's baseline by monitoring, evaluating, and recommending emerging technologies.
- Ensure compliance with federal security standards, government baselines, and DISA STIGs through automated security gating and vulnerability remediation.
Requirements
- Active DoD Secret Clearance
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA Security)
- 10+ years of experience, prior experience supporting USCG of DHS preferred
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining secure DevSecOps pipelines and automated software delivery frameworks
- Proven experience creating and maintaining MBSE domain architectures, integrated digital models, or enterprise-level architecture blueprints
- Comprehensive operational understanding of Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) principles and integrating cybersecurity controls into foundational designs
- Strong experience establishing engineering frameworks, technical standards, and software traceability practices across automated lifecycles
- Proficiency in automating infrastructure, configuration management, and deployment gating within complex, multi-domain environments
- Strong foundational understanding of diverse IT domains including enterprise virtualization, software engineering, cloud architecture, and network boundaries
Qualifications
- Relevant professional certifications highly preferred (e.g., DevSecOps certifications, AWS/Azure Certified Solutions Architect, or INCOSE ASEP/CSEP)
- Familiarity with PEO C5I enterprise strategies, architectural policies, and command structures
- Understanding containerization and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Docker) paired with automated vulnerability scanning tools
- Experience with cloud-native architectures, software-defined infrastructure, and secure hybrid-cloud environments
