Senior DevOps Software Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Software Engineer to join our team. This role requires an active TS/SCI polygraph clearance and is located in Annapolis Junction, MD.

Responsibilities

• Manage and build robust CI/CD pipelines to production environments for mission-critical data and core development tools teams.
• Provide advanced automation, clean system scripting, and robust feature development support to optimize critical monitoring and reporting activities.
• Collaborate with a team that values technical expertise to drive innovation and solve complex software challenges.

Requirements

• Active Fully-Cleared with Poly
• Deep hands-on experience with file system manipulation, performance monitoring, logging, and infrastructure troubleshooting using command line tools
• Proven expertise in designing, deploying, and monitoring automated pipelines to production environments
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes deployment, runtime management, and configuration
• Direct experience deploying, configurations-hardening, and managing Docker containers
• Strong background driving automated monitoring tools and stability processes within an active software lifecycle

Desired Skills

• Strong hands-on computing skills and deployment knowledge within AWS
• High proficiency writing clean tools and scripts using Bash, Python, or JavaScript
• Experience building, configuring, and supporting virtual machines (VMs) using enterprise customer corporate infrastructure
• Familiarity with data transit orchestration using Apache NiFi
• Familiarity with data visualization and reporting dashboards like Grafana and Kibana
• Experience leveraging Jenkins engines for pipeline control
• Experience hardening Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) application configurations

Qualifications

• Minimum of fourteen (14) years of professional software engineering or DevOps experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university
• Four (4) years of additional software engineering or systems infrastructure experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree (totaling 18 years of experience)

Benefits

The annual base salary range for this role is $189,000 - $224,000 (USD), which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from the posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
