Senior DevOps & Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role

Nyla Technology Solutions has an immediate need for a high-performing DevOps Engineer to support TO-005: Report Authoring and Dissemination (RAD). In this role, you will drive the DevOps engineering efforts of a high-impact modernization initiative designed to converge key authoring, dissemination, and supporting tools. You will be instrumental in deploying robust distributed applications, automating infrastructure provisioning, configuring complex software environments, and ensuring mission-critical systems maintain peak performance, scalability, and reliability.

Required Skills

• Operating Systems: Deep, hands-on experience with Linux administration and engineering.
• Cloud & Virtualization: Proven experience with AWS and Virtual Machine (VM) environments.
• Containerization: Strong, thorough understanding of Docker and Docker Compose container technologies, along with operational experience in Docker Swarm.
• CI/CD & Application Deployment: Demonstrated experience deploying distributed web applications using automated pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI/CD).
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Hands-on experience with Terraform scripting and VM provisioning.
• Configuration Management: Proficiency with Ansible scripting and development.
• Version Control: Expertise with Git workflow and repository management.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, PLUS 7+ years of professional software engineering experience OR High School Diploma / GED, PLUS 11+ years of hands-on technical software development experience in lieu of a degree.

Desired Skills

• Scripting & Automation: Hands-on Bash scripting and development for operational automation.
• Search & Analytics: Experience configuring and maintaining Elasticsearch clusters.
• Application Troubleshooting: Familiarity with Java / Spring Boot architectures to effectively navigate and troubleshoot error logs.
• Load Balancing: Practical experience configuring and managing HAProxy.
• Databases: Familiarity with MongoDB management and maintenance.
