About the role
The Sr. DevOps Engineer will support multiple business domains within Optum Financial, focusing on the development of secure, cloud-based payment capabilities. The role involves leveraging AI-powered tools to enhance productivity and automate processes.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure with a primary focus on Azure and Kubernetes environments
- Build and maintain tooling, pipelines, and automation that support release, deployment, and upgrade processes across environments
- Implement and manage observability solutions, including automated deployment of Datadog monitors, dashboards, and alerting through Terraform
- Maintain advanced knowledge of development processes, programming concepts, and modern DevOps practices to continuously improve platform reliability and developer productivity
- Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to ensure applications and infrastructure meet organizational security, compliance, and governance requirements
- Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure costs, identifying and implementing cost-saving opportunities while retaining performance and reliability
- Serve as a liaison between development and operations teams to improve communication, enhance collaboration, and accelerate product delivery
- Contribute to a continuous delivery platform, supporting Agile development with stable, scalable, and easily deployable environments
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or cloud infrastructure roles, with hands-on work in Azure or similar cloud platforms
- 3+ years of experience with Terraform or another infrastructure-as-code framework (e.g., Pulumi, CloudFormation)
- 3+ years of experience managing Kubernetes environments, including deployment, scaling, and cluster operations
- 3+ years of experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitHub Actions or comparable tools
- 1+ years of experience deploying and managing observability systems, including Datadog, OpenTelemetry, or similar platforms
- 1+ years of experience automating deployment of monitoring dashboards, alerts, and telemetry integrations using IaC
Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare technology is preferred

Pay
The salary for this role will range from $91,700 to $163,700 annually based on full-time employment.
