About the Role

The Senior Development Engineer is an experienced professional who leads software development projects and teams. They design and architect software solutions, provide technical guidance and mentorship, and ensure successful delivery of software products. This role collaborates with stakeholders to define project requirements, manage timelines and resources, and drive continuous improvement in software development practices.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers high-complexity development or automation tasks as part of a team.
  • Documents code and ensures the team follows established software product engineering practices.
  • Works under moderate supervision with access to assistance for work assignments not covered by established guidelines.
  • Designs, codes, and debugs applications in various software languages or tools.
  • Develops software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, and studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes.
  • Performs unit testing and integration testing.
  • Maintains and improves existing codebases and peer reviews code changes.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves software defects and issues.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers, to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Participates in code reviews and provides constructive feedback to peers.
  • Writes and maintains technical documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections.
  • Keeps up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure competitiveness.
  • Conducts research to discover new technologies and tools to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Participates in project planning, including estimating timeframes and resource requirements.
  • Manages tasks and deadlines to ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Ensures software security and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Implements data protection and security measures.
  • Interacts with customers or end-users to gather requirements and provide support.
  • Translates customer requirements into technical specifications.
  • Continuously improves development processes and methodologies.
  • Engages in continuous learning and professional development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s Degree, or a significant amount of relevant experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Quantitative or Engineering Field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain Planning or Supply Chain Management, with a strong understanding of demand planning, inventory optimization, production scheduling, or S&OP processes.

Skills

  • Hands-on development experience in Palantir Foundry (Ontology, Code Repositories, Workshop, or data pipeline development) or equivalent experience building data-driven applications.
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages, including:
    • Python for data transformation, analytics, and application logic
    • C++ for performance-critical components
    • JavaScript and React for building interactive front-end applications
    • SQL for querying, modeling, and optimizing large datasets
  • Design patterns in multiple front-end and back-end frameworks.
  • Proficient in Data Engineering.
  • Proficient with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Proficient with Version Control, DevOps & CI/CD.
  • Technical writing and diagramming.
  • Analysis (Technical, Business, or Data).
  • Communication: Providing technical guidance and mentorship.
  • Problem-solving: Designing and architecting software solutions.
  • Mentoring: Providing guidance to junior team members.
  • Leadership: Leading software development projects and teams.
  • Collaboration: Working with stakeholders to define project requirements.
  • Continuous Learning: Staying updated with industry trends and technologies.
  • Creativity: Innovating new approaches to development design and optimization.
