About the role

The Senior Development Director will oversee the Heart Walk corporate fundraising campaigns, including our signature Heart Walk event, and provide supervision to two Development Directors. The Association offers resources to help maintain work-life harmonization, including access to Heart U, our award-winning corporate university, and additional local training and support.

Responsibilities

  • Generate revenue by prospecting and securing local corporate sponsorship and individual donations.
  • Achieve revenue goals by building and maintaining relationships with corporate partners and donors.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective corporate sponsors and donors through research aligned with campaign goals and the Association's mission.
  • Develop and present proposals and accompanying materials to secure revenue and volunteer engagement.
  • Recruit and manage executive volunteer leadership, volunteer committees, and day-of-event volunteers.
  • Recruit corporate team participation in Heart Walk and motivate team members to fundraise.
  • Lead and engage new individual membership for our Cor Vitae giving society, including planning and implementing regular engagement events for members.
  • Plan and implement events in collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Work with a Communications Director to support and promote campaign communication plans.

Requirements

  • 5 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or other related experience.
  • University/College degree or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including large and small group presentations, group facilitation, and training.
  • Skill in written communications, including clear and concise narrative reports, evaluations, and similar pieces.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and analyze numerical goals and fundraising reports.
  • Skill in spreadsheet/database analysis.
  • Ability to do daily local travel up to 75%; requires access to reliable transportation at all times.
  • Basic knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to lift and/or move large objects (e.g., boxes), with heavier items broken down or assistance requested as needed.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience managing and cultivating volunteer relationships.
  • Knowledge of corporate and community networks.
