Senior Developer - eXPRS Application

About the Role

Ongoing development, maintenance, enhancement, and modernization of the eXPRS web-based application. Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, product owners, technical leads, and Agile teams to deliver enhancements and resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and implement software updates, code changes, and defect fixes for the eXPRS application.
• Address operational, performance, maintenance, refactoring, UI, data, and reporting requests.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for application changes and enhancements.
• Analyze requirements, document solution options, identify dependencies and capability gaps.
• Work with business product owners to understand and clarify functional requirements and delivery timelines.
• Partner with technical architects to design and document technical solutions.
• Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies (daily standups, sprint planning, reviews, and stakeholder meetings).
• Develop incremental prototypes and incorporate business and technical feedback.
• Provide time estimates, sprint updates, and regular status reports.
• Adhere to Azure DevOps, Agile/Scrum practices, development standards, and issue-tracking protocols.
• Transition completed work to other team members for long-term support.
• Support 2-week development sprints and demonstrate working prototypes at regular intervals.
• Prepare technical specifications for deliverables, including database, interface, batch, and application module changes.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience with J2EE, IBM DB2 UDB, Java, and Eclipse.
• Recent state government experience.
• 1–3 years developing the eXPRS application.
• Experience with software debugging, scripting, source control, SQL Server, Oracle, SQL/PLSQL/T-SQL, web architecture, HTML, and software development best practices.
