Senior Designer - Water/Wastewater Team – Tavares, FL

The Halff is seeking a Senior Designer to join their Water & Wastewater team in the Tavares, FL office. The role involves assisting in the planning and design of Water and Wastewater improvement projects, including water and wastewater treatment plants. Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting in the planning and design of Water and Wastewater improvement projects
• Developing or overseeing the development of detailed drawings and plans using AutoCAD, Civil3D, Revit, and other BIM software
• Working as part of a design team under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer
• Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior CADD Technicians
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of design processes and standards, promoting innovative solutions to meet project challenges
• Participating in meetings and site visits to better understand project requirements and ensuring designs are accurately implemented in the field
• Collaborating with engineers and other team members to ensure designs are accurate and feasible

What You Will Need

• Drafting Certificate or Associate's degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field, or sufficient work history and portfolio projects may be accepted in lieu of formal education
• A minimum of 8 years of experience as a CADD Technician/Designer
• A focus on water and wastewater and/or municipal infrastructure projects is preferred
• Excellent proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Familiarity with Autodesk Revit, and other BIM software
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
• Ability to work independently as a self-motivator and as part of a team

Nice to Have

• Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field
• Focused experience with water and wastewater treatment plants and/or municipal infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of Water and Wastewater infrastructure design industry standards, principles, and practices
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to water and wastewater infrastructure
• Proficiency with Autodesk Revit, and other BIM software
• Experience with GIS software and applications
• Experience using Bluebeam software of other PDF markup tools
• Experience with Autodesk Forma (previously Autodesk Construction Cloud or ACC)
