About the Role

As a Senior Graphic Designer, you will drive groundbreaking footwear collections that push the boundaries of sport, storytelling, and innovation. Your work will involve executing a collaborative vision that aligns Nike and athlete insights across American Football, Baseball, and Cricket. You will translate authentic insights through a meaningful visual center comprised of graphics, typography, prints on footwear shell patterns, and logos through modern executions that stand out on the world’s biggest stages. A strong understanding of culture and trends is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the creative vision and lead team meetings while communicating critical information.
  • Ensure design progress and meet deadlines.
  • Present design concepts and seasonal initiatives to internal and external audiences while maintaining Nike’s best interests.
  • Collaborate with material, color, and footwear design teams, as well as cross-functional teammates and external partners.
  • Work directly with athletes and teams in a collaborative environment to bring a diverse vision to life.
  • Conceptualize, curate, and create performance product stories that inspire and resonate with athletes and fans.
  • Design across multiple sports, leveraging a profound understanding of sports, style, and modern aesthetics.
  • Develop new perspectives and narratives from genuine athlete and market insights.
  • Manage multiple projects effectively with a collaborative spirit.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Design or a related field. Any suitable combination of education, experience, and training will be considered.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in Graphic Design, Color Design, or Product Design.
  • Well-curated portfolio showcasing a variety of projects that demonstrate a strong, effective methodology for research, inspiration, design development, problem-solving, process, and final execution.
  • Strong sketching, illustration, typography, brand identity, and color theory skills.
  • Proficiency in digital design software (Creative Suite), with a high degree of proficiency in Adobe Illustrator. Knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Keynote, and Adobe Photoshop is a plus.
  • Openness to working in new digital spaces.
  • Deep understanding of make and manufacturing processes.
  • Committed connections to sports, current, and emerging cultural design trends.
  • Knowledge of apparel creation, including ideation, development, specification, and final execution of designs that balance innovation, performance, and style.
  • Proven ability to inspire and drive creative direction through production execution.
  • Collaborative spirit and flexibility to manage multiple projects and work efficiently with internal, external, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
