Job Title : Senior Designer Location: New York, NY, Hybrid Rate : Best competitive rate on w2 Visa status: USC/GC only **Job Overview** We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Designer to join our team in New York. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in luxury accessories, product design, and technical design development, with eyewear experience strongly preferred. In this role, you will collaborate closely with licensors, brand teams, product development teams, line planning teams, and designers across North America and Italy to create innovative eyewear collections that align with brand identity, consumer preferences, and market trends. The Senior Designer will be responsible for transforming creative concepts into detailed sketches, technical drawings, renderings, and production-ready designs while supporting the product development process from concept through prototype evaluation. **Key Responsibilities** Collaborate with licensors and brand partners to understand brand identity, design direction, target customers, and collection requirements. Develop innovative eyewear concepts and prepare detailed sketches based on licensor specifications and collection strategies. Create fully developed sketchbooks, concept presentations, and high-quality renderings using Adobe Illustrator. Produce detailed technical drawings, including section views, exploded views, specifications, and notes required for prototyping and production. Partner with Product Development and Line Planning teams in North America and Italy to develop innovative construction details, including hardware, materials, finishes, production techniques, and design solutions. Support prototype and CAD reviews by providing design feedback, revisions, and follow-up to ensure accurate execution of design intent. Research and interpret current and emerging trends in eyewear, fashion, luxury accessories, materials, and consumer preferences. Analyze domestic and competitive markets to identify new product opportunities and emerging trends while maintaining brand identity and business strategy. Provide creative direction and recommendations for product concepts that align with collection strategy and North American market trends. Lead exploratory development of new materials, construction techniques, and innovative design solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Work closely with designers and global teams, including colleagues at the Italian headquarters, throughout the product development lifecycle. Participate in industry events, conferences, and trade shows as needed. Manage multiple design projects and priorities while meeting established timelines and business objectives. **Required Qualifications** Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or a related design discipline from an accredited college or university. 5 8 years of professional design experience, preferably within luxury accessories, fashion, specialty retail, product development, or a related industry. Experience designing luxury accessories, with a strong preference for eyewear experience. Candidates with experience in related product categories such as jewelry, hardware, fashion accessories, or other luxury consumer products are also encouraged to apply. Strong understanding of the product design and development lifecycle, including concept development, technical design, prototyping, and production processes. Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Adobe Illustrator. Experience with 3D modeling tools, such as Rhinoceros (Rhino) or similar software. Experience with 3D rendering tools, preferably KeyShot. Ability to create detailed technical drawings, specifications, exploded views, and other documentation required for product development. Strong project management, organizational, and time-management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and international teams. **Preferred Qualifications** Previous experience in the eyewear industry. Experience working within a sales, distribution, retail, or consumer products environment. Experience collaborating with international teams. Exposure to Italian culture and/or proficiency in the Italian language is a plus. Experience working with luxury brands and licensors is highly desirable. Additional Information Work Schedule: Hybrid; candidates may be required to work onsite up to 3 days per week in New York. Travel: Domestic and international travel may be required.
