Duties
- Prepare Civil plans for projects focused on public works infrastructure including roadways, drainage, water, sewer, utility facilities and earthwork projects.
- Perform analysis of design and construction systems, planning studies, design layouts and construction details.
- Conduct site and construction inspections for information-gathering purposes, preparing reports.
- Execute material selections, and technical solutions.
- Analyze design and construction systems, design layouts and construction features, which require researching, compiling and recording information for assigned project work.
Key Responsibilities
- Understands, follows, and enforces Huitt-Zollars' business process.
- Productively collaborates with PMs and encourages teams to achieve success and camaraderie amongst each other.
- Understands and follows HZ QMS and Quality initiatives. Ensures that quality control measures are being adhered to on projects and daily operations.
- Understands duties and responsibilities, possesses necessary job knowledge and technical skills, maintains job knowledge current.
- Contributes to successful delivery and performance of projects.
- Complete assignments on-time, within budget, and with highest level of quality.
- Routinely proposes and produces more effective ways to accomplish tasks.
- Prepares and follows comprehensive Project Framework Instructions and proper work planning for a project. Assists Principal on ensuring proper staff is assigned and utilized on their projects.
- Reviews project reports and performance metrics to track project progress and budget. Leads successful projects (profit, on-schedule, quality, satisfied client).
Qualifications
- Associates of Applied Sciences degree, or greater required.
- Minimum 10 years in the profession as a Civil Engineer Designer.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated site work and construction technical experience.
- Ability to prioritize and deliver multiple projects with varying deadlines.
- Excellent verbal, written, and graphic communication skills.
- Ability to lead and coordinate consultant teams.
- Ability to interact with owners and user groups.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
