About the role
K—DA is a boutique architecture and interior design firm based in DUMBO, Brooklyn. We do high-end residential work throughout New York City: townhouses, apartment guts, and bespoke interiors. Our projects are complex, our clients are engaged, and our process is hands-on from concept through construction administration. We're a small studio, which means the work matters and so does the person doing it.
Responsibilities
- Carry a portfolio of active projects from early design through construction administration, working directly alongside the principal and collaborating with a tight team of designers.
- Contribute to schematic concepts, develop design details, create client presentations, and produce construction detailing.
- Navigate DOB filings, LPC submissions, and the dynamics of high-end residential construction in New York.
Requirements
- A professional degree in architecture.
- 7 to 10 years of relevant experience, ideally with meaningful time spent on residential projects in New York City.
- Comfortable producing and coordinating across all project phases.
- Experience with Vectorworks is a plus but not required.
- Knowledge of the DOB, LPC, and ability to handle co-op board or landmark reviews.
- Organized but not rigid.
- Clear communicator, both in writing and in a room.
- Interior design experience alongside architecture is valued.
