About the role
The Senior Design Project Manager will support and report to the assigned Project Manager(s) or Project Director. They will directly assist in managing, coordinating, and administering the project through all phases of design and construction.
Responsibilities
- Provides support and reports to the assigned Project Manager(s) or Project Director.
- Frequent interaction with the Owner/Client, consultants, design professionals, and contractors.
- Ensures all aspects of client services are delivered at the highest level to address the client’s needs.
- Aids in the preparation of documents such as reports, schedules, invoices, RFI’s, submittals, meeting minutes/agendas, daily reports, change orders, inspections, closeout, and client presentations.
- Schedules meetings with the project team as directed by the Project Manager(s).
- Communicates conceptual designs and maintains project documentation before, during, and after construction.
- Maintains Basis of Design, prototype design, and template specifications for architectural elements.
- Reviews and informs design RFPs.
- Manages external design consultants through the design and construction process.
- Communicates design standards to internal and external project partners.
- Manages multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously.
- Think outside of the box to find innovative solutions prior to and during the construction process to reduce costs without negative impacts on quality or reliability.
- Adhere to SOX control responsibilities where applicable.
Requirements
- College Degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture.
- 10-15 years of experience in Higher Education construction preferred.
- Experience and working in Project Management on large-scale construction programs.
- Experienced in Design/Architecture/Civil works.
- Solid working proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent presentation skills and the ability to be highly effective in a client-facing role.
- Team player; ability to work collaboratively.
Qualifications
