Senior Design Project Director

About the role

Join PM Group’s growing Philadelphia-area team in Conshohocken, PA. This senior-level position offers the opportunity to lead cutting-edge projects for Cell & Gene Therapy, Biologics, and Pharma facilities—from feasibility through qualification—for both local and international clients. The Senior Design Project Director will act as the principal project representative, fostering client relationships, driving business growth, and mentoring staff while ensuring project delivery excellence.

Responsibilities

• Act as an ambassador for the company, securing new business and delivering excellent project services.
• Lead, execute, and oversee projects directly and through supervision of PM Group team members.
• Mentor the Project Management team and support recruitment, training, and staff development.
• Support departmental communications, including office and company updates.
• Plan and allocate resources to meet project management requirements at office and client sites.
• Develop and maintain client relationships through outreach, presentations, and industry participation.
• Generate scopes of work, project proposals, schedules, and cost estimates.
• Present to clients, industry leaders, academics, and students on relevant topics.
• Lead project delivery strategy development across the entire project lifecycle.
• Interact with Senior Management to preserve project scope and resources.
• Maintain and drive quality standards for project execution.
• Identify and implement improvements to support PM Group’s project delivery community.
• Periodic travel to client sites as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in science or an engineering discipline (advanced degree preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in a cGMP-regulated environment.
• Experience providing project management services to clients.
• Proven leadership as a Team Leader on multiple life science projects.
• Strong understanding of project execution methodologies for cGMP life science facilities.
• Excellent time management, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Self-driven, results-oriented, and committed to high-quality outcomes.
• Ability to critically assess performance (self and team) and resolve project issues.
• Broad experience in interdisciplinary coordination within the life sciences industry.
• Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility and willingness to travel as needed.
