Senior Design Expert – AI Design Research Study - Remote

About the role

We are seeking experienced Senior Design Professionals to participate in a paid AI research initiative focused on advancing next-generation design intelligence. In partnership with a leading technology company, you'll help shape how AI understands expert design thinking by sharing your professional decision-making process, evaluating design quality, and participating in structured research sessions. Depending on your experience, you may serve as either the design expert being interviewed or the facilitator conducting expert interviews.

Responsibilities

• Participating in structured, recorded remote research sessions focused on professional design workflows
• Explaining how you approach design problems, make trade-offs, and evaluate design quality
• Demonstrating how you determine when a product or experience is ready for launch
• Providing expert insights into UX, product, visual, or brand design best practices
• Reviewing design scenarios and offering clear, evidence-based feedback
• Helping researchers understand real-world design processes that will improve future AI systems

Requirements

• Significant senior-level experience in Product Design, UX Design, UI Design, Brand Design, Service Design, or related disciplines
• A strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality professional work
• Deep expertise in design thinking, critique, usability, and product craftsmanship
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex design decisions
• Experience mentoring designers, leading reviews, or establishing design standards (preferred)
• Passion for influencing the future of AI-powered design tools
• Applicants should provide a publicly shareable design portfolio or personal website. Your portfolio will be used only to assess your suitability for the study and will not be used for AI model training. Please do not submit confidential, proprietary, or NDA-protected work.
