Responsibilities

  • Design and develop modular DC/DC converters for applications including data center, artificial intelligence, networking, and supercomputers.
  • Conduct feasibility studies in simulation and assess the performance of the design.
  • Design, build, and verify hardware in various testing conditions.
  • Develop and optimize control algorithms for power modules.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers.
  • Apply knowledge of electronics circuit development concepts, analog and digital electronics, power losses, and semiconductor device basics.
  • Understand fundamental electromagnetic theory including magnetic circuits, skin and proximity effects.
  • Gain hands-on hardware experience including prototyping and testing.
  • Use simulation tools such as MATLAB, PLECS, and LTspice.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering with 3 years of working experience, or MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering with 1-2 years of working experience in power electronics (graduate research work is considered as experience).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of power electronics concepts (topologies, building blocks, parasitic effects, EMI, losses, and partial discharge).
  • Experience with magnetic components design and development, including inductors, transformers, and filters.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, thermal, and material design considerations.
  • Experience with power semiconductor devices (SiC MOSFETs, SiC diodes, Si IGBTs, etc.).
