About the role
The Sr. Design Engineer supports the Operations department, assisting Project Managers in executing projects and representing the company to clients. Key responsibilities include preparing project schedules, creating technical drawings, validating equipment choices, and communicating with key stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the implementation of the different phases of the project's schedules: develop work plans, budgets, resource allocations, timing, and estimated deliveries with the assigned Project Manager.
- Create technical drawings (block diagram, single-line, architectural, etc.).
- Support the Project Managers in research and validation of solutions sales.
- Aid the sales representatives in the elaboration of solutions for clients.
- Communicate with the Director of Operations and Technical Manager about issues related to each team.
- Plan workflow with Director of Operations and Technical Manager.
- Perform the validation of equipment choices and systems conception before submitting the bid.
- Responsible for products and specialized equipment research.
- Evaluate the workforce needs, hardware stores, wirings for projects.
- Create the hardware and wiring equipment lists.
- Keep informed of new products and modern technologies in the audiovisual domain, and others related.
- Create systems manuals for clients.
- Create custom-built items that must be assembled or provided externally.
- Analyze estimated costs and feasibility of relevant projects submitted by representatives.
- Act as a reference for internal and external clients.
- Ensure the technical compliance of project deliveries.
Requirements
- Diploma in audiovisual, project management, or any other relevant work experience; a CTS certification is a plus; preference will be given to CTS-D.
- Minimum of six years of experience as an integrated systems designer.
- Knowledge of construction sites.
- Advanced practical and theoretical knowledge of sound, lighting, control, video, and videoconference.
- Good knowledge of Office 365 (Excel, Word).
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Project.
- Ability to prepare, understand, and interpret advanced single-line diagrams, architectural, construction, and electrical drawings.
- Specialized software skills in sound and/or lighting configuration, DSP type, sound analysis, calibration.
- Strong capacity to work with multiple schedules at once and under pressure.
