Senior Design Engineer

Essential Duties and Position Responsibilities

• Utilize Solidworks CAD design skills to provide mechanical engineering support for the development of medical device components, assemblies, and final packaging
• Create and develop new product and tooling designs in a cross-functional team environment, provide innovative solutions that solve design for manufacture needs while addressing mechanical, material selection and manufacturing process design challenges
• Work closely with other engineers, specialists, and production personnel to execute the physical fabrication/troubleshooting of product or tooling design prototype assemblies
• Check completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformance to standards, accuracy of calculations and proper dimensioning and tolerancing
• Support design documentation and prototyping of internal intellectual property submissions

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills

• Required: BS engineering degree with 5 years of relevant experience or advanced engineering degree with 2 years of experience required
• Knowledge of general design engineering principles, component manufacturing processes, tooling methodologies, and material properties required
• Experience with relevant parametric CAD modeling software
• Desired: Mechanical Engineering degree, Advanced Solidworks CAD design, drawing, and PDM vault competencies, Knowledge of disposable or implantable medical device technologies, Ability to work independently and thrive in a team environment, Excellent verbal and written communication skills
