Accountabilities
- Serve as a technical leader responsible for designing advanced audiovisual systems, supporting project delivery, and ensuring design excellence across complex initiatives.
- Manage strong technical expertise, stakeholder communication, and mentor engineering teams.
- Partner with sales teams and account managers to understand customer requirements, develop technical strategies, and support proposal efforts for large-scale projects.
- Provide expert guidance on audiovisual solutions, addressing complex customer challenges and building confidence in proposed designs.
- Develop accurate labor estimates, material requirements, and technical documentation to support project proposals.
- Create comprehensive system designs, including bills of materials, conceptual block diagrams, infrastructure plans, and scopes of work.
- Define infrastructure requirements related to power, data, conduit, and AV system integration while coordinating with contractors and project stakeholders.
- Identify and communicate project risks, site conditions, dependencies, and scheduling considerations throughout the design process.
- Review construction documentation and validate designs to ensure alignment with project objectives and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with vendors, architects, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to develop effective solutions.
- Act as a design authority during project implementation by providing technical support and resolving complex design challenges.
- Mentor engineering team members by sharing knowledge, technical expertise, and industry best practices.
- Contribute to the improvement of design workflows, standards, and processes.
Requirements
- Experienced audiovisual engineering professional with advanced system design knowledge, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to manage complex technical challenges.
- Strong understanding of audiovisual industry standards, trends, technologies, and customer expectations.
- Advanced experience designing and configuring AV systems using industry tools and standards.
- Strong knowledge of IP networking, including AVoIP solutions and network architecture.
- Familiarity with AV industry standards such as AVIXA and ANSI/TIA.
- Proficiency with design and documentation tools such as CAD applications, including AutoCAD or Bluebeam Revu.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure requirements, including power, data, conduit, and their integration with AV systems.
- AVIXA CTS-D certification required.
- AVIXA ANP certification preferred; Cisco CCNA or similar networking certifications may be considered as an alternative.
- Multiple relevant audio/DSP certifications such as Biamp, Q-SYS, BSS, Extron, or Shure certifications.
- Experience supporting enterprise-level AV projects and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with enterprise collaboration and conferencing technologies such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, or Cisco Webex.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to independently identify and resolve technical risks.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to clients, project managers, and technical teams.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
- Able to travel as needed and work in office or client-site environments.
