Senior Day Camp Counselor - PreK

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Summer Camp Counselor to positively impact the summer camp community and help children reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

• Supervise campers and plan camp activities.
• Actively participate in activities to encourage participation.
• Ensure all campers can participate in all activities, no matter varied abilities whether physical, or intellectual.
• Identify, address, and redirect/correct inappropriate behavior.
• Avoid the risk of accidents by ensuring appropriate behavior of campers and staff.
• Avoid the risk of accidents by ensuring appropriate behavior of campers and staff.
• Avoid the risk of accidents by ensuring appropriate behavior of campers and staff.
• Avoid the risk of accidents by ensuring appropriate behavior of campers and staff.
• Embody the GPY commitment to diversity and inclusion, no matter race, color, creed, or gender identification.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old
• High school graduate or equivalent, or enrolled in a minimum of 2 years of child development coursework approved by state licensing requirements
• Experience working with children and at least two seasons working as a Y Camp Counselor or as a counselor in a comparable program
• Enthusiasm, sense of humor, and patience
