Senior Datacenter Engineer

Responsibilities
- Define system-level architecture and product strategy for next-generation data centers and become an expert on Google data center electrical canonical designs.
- Conduct engineering analysis and research innovative designs for data center equipment and facilities, and mentor junior electrical engineers in the region and the overall Google Data Centers program.
- Develop and document standard operating and maintenance procedures for critical systems, and collaborate with Operations teams and engineers for retrofits and critical issues’ resolution.
- Implement process improvements across critical infrastructure projects to boost operational efficiency.
- Validate that all designs and installations meet specified cooling, structural, and performance requirements.
- Apply controls engineering principles to design and implement automated mission-critical systems and collaborate with equipment engineers and program design engineers for all modifications and design changes on projects.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a Datacenter Engineering-related occupation.
- Alternatively, Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field, and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a Datacenter Engineering-related occupation.

Benefits
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $161,800 - $209,000 + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Schedule
Position reports to the Google Sterling, VA office & may allow for a hybrid schedule as per Google policy.
