Senior Databricks Engineer

The SENIOR DATABRICKS ENGINEER role focuses on leading hands-on, end-to-end Databricks pipeline development for a global management consulting client. This position involves analyzing and organizing existing client data, building robust medallion-layer pipelines, and engaging directly with the client to address technical and governance challenges. The role demands high technical ownership and effective collaboration with a demanding client team.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Databricks pipelines using bronze, silver, and gold medallion architecture
- Develop data engineering code in Python, SQL, and PySpark, including materialized views
- Analyze and document unfamiliar client data sets, reporting findings to the team and client
- Engage in technical discussions on engineering, data modeling, and governance with the client
- Support demonstration work illustrating potential solutions as the project advances
Requirements
- Proven experience with Databricks pipeline development
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark
- Experience with materialized views and medallion-layer architectures
- Ability to independently investigate new data sets and clearly communicate findings
- Commitment to the full engagement duration, up to 26 weeks
- Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken
