Responsibilities
- Arcitect, deploy, and manage high-performance database systems using SQLite or PostgreSQL, ensuring scalability and reliability for mission-critical applications.
- Drive performance tuning and optimization initiatives, diagnosing and resolving bottlenecks to keep systems running at peak efficiency.
- Establish and enforce comprehensive backup, recovery, and security strategies to protect data integrity and ensure business continuity.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design database solutions, and integrate them seamlessly into broader infrastructures.
Requirements
- 12+ years of proven experience as a Database Administrator, with deep expertise in SQLite or PostgreSQL environments.
- BA/BS degree or High School Diploma and 6 years of additional relevant experience or Associate's Degree and 4 years of additional relevant experience may be exchanged in lieu of a required Bachelor's degree.
- Mastery of database design principles, including normalization, indexing, and advanced query optimization.
- Extensive experience managing complex databases, with a focus on backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
- Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a track record of resolving complex database issues under tight deadlines.
- Strong leadership abilities and excellent communication skills, with experience guiding and inspiring technical teams.
Qualifications
- Proficiency with additional database platforms such as MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server, showcasing versatility in database management.
- Skill in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) to automate routine database administration tasks and boost efficiency.
- Familiarity with data warehousing, ETL workflows, or business intelligence tools to support advanced data analytics.
- Expertise in leveraging database monitoring and performance analysis tools to proactively maintain system health.
Clearance Requirements
Must have a current/active Secret security clearance.
Physical Requirements
The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
