Senior Data Scientist (TS/SCI cleared)

About the role

The Threat Analytic Systems (QAI) Group at APL seeks talented engineers, scientists, and developers to contribute to groundbreaking capabilities that bridge data, technology, and national security challenges.

Responsibilities

• Apply expertise in AI, ML, statistical analysis, and software development to solve complex data analysis problems for sponsors.
• Research, develop, evaluate, and deploy innovative techniques and technologies in data science and AI.
• Create prototype software to gather, process, and analyze intelligence data from various sources.
• Communicate ideas and results effectively through papers and presentations to technical staff, management, and government decision makers.

Qualifications

• A Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience with AI, ML, and statistical analysis.
• Proven track record in algorithm design and system implementation for interdisciplinary problems.
• Hands-on experience with Python.
• Ability to work on multiple projects independently or as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance required.

$105,000 - $290,000 Annually
