Senior Data Scientist - Ontology

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain comprehensive ontological structures for data alignment.
• Establish rules for record equivalence across diverse systems.
• Create documented mappings from various data sources to the canonical ontology.
• Author OWL 2 axioms and ensure logical consistency using reasoners.
• Collaborate with governance teams to ensure adherence to best practices.
• Drive ontology discovery from empirical data, beyond mere schema interpretations.
• Evaluate and guide LLM-assisted ontology extraction processes.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in knowledge engineering or ontology development.
• Proven track record of building and maintaining validated domain ontologies using Protege or similar tools.
• Familiarity with ontology lifecycle management tools like ROBOT or ODK.
• Proficiency in SPARQL and/or Cypher for data querying aligned with ontologies.
• Experience in LLM-assisted knowledge extraction with formal validation.

Pay

$128,000 – $170,000 annually
